Reducing the Risk of CIED Infections – Antibiotic Prophylaxis and Resistant Organisms

This course is designed to increase awareness of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) infection including: current trends related to cardiac device infection, current methods of infection prophylaxis, as well as the associated costs and mortality. Course content will also include a review of recently published clinical data for the antibacterial envelope and the plans for a Randomized Controlled Trial on fully absorbable antibacterial envelope technology. An understanding of CIED usage, implantation, and revision is a prerequisite for participants.
