Welcome to the AHA! In this issue, we explore several different techniques for AF ablation.

Dear Readers, In recognition of the annual AHA meeting this month, we are showcasing many great articles for you in this special issue. Included are three in-depth features discussing different techniques for AF ablation: • In the article “MR Imaging: New Techniques for the Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation,” Dr. Nassir Marrouche describes his ablation technique using MRI. Dr. Marrouche is the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratories and the AF Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine. • In a feature interview entitled “New Research Using the Cryoballoon Technique,” we speak with Dr. Thomas Neumann from the Kerckhoff Heart Center in Bad Nauheim, Germany, about a recent three-center trial to study the effectiveness and safety of the Arctic Front. • In the case study entitled “Efficient Pulmonary Vein Isolation Using a Multi-channel, Duty-cycled RF Generator and Circular Ablation Catheter,” authors Stefan Weber, MD, Sabine Fredersdorf, MD, and Clemens Jilek, MD describe the use of an RF ablation system designed to simplify and shorten the procedure for PV isolation. As always, if you would be interested in submitting an article to EP Lab Digest, please contact me at “jelrod@hmpcommunications.com”. We are always looking for new writers, so if you would like to contribute, we would love to hear from you! Thanks for reading! Jodie Elrod Managing Editor jelrod@hmpcommunications.com
